meet the relatives: holidays
I'm back from Argentina. Anna was not willing to let me go. She climbed in my suitcase and wouldn't get out.
When we got back around 7, I was still super wide awake, even if I only slept on the bus for three hours.
I waddled around my room unpacking while everyone else slept. Or rather, lay dead to the world. I'm hyper. I stayed in my room and wrapped gifts and I did my annual Christmas Clean-out.
I like the idea of a Christmas clean-out, because it gives you more room for your gifts later on...:)
Everyone finally woke up, around 1, so we had a late LATE LATE breakfast and watched Honeymooners.
I fell asleep during that (notice: I'd been awake ten hours straight). I went to bed and woke right back up at 7 PM. Anna slept right beside me, purring. She missed us all. I could tell.
We all watched Kung Fu Panda, which we'd bought at WAL-MART.
After it, I was still super hyper and it was Friday night, soo...
I got on the computer and chatted with Randomizer... Until about 12. Then I got off and read until I fell asleep. Took me about five hours to fall asleep. NOT kidding.
Now, on to Argentina.
I bought lots of gifts and WAL-MART was fantastic. I found lots of stuff.
My Christmas List for those who don't read my blog:
McCja-___________________ and _________
Verje- a dangly keychain and a black fedora hat.®
Mom-_____________________ and _______________
Dad-_____________________ and a ____________

McCab-a Little People® 3-people play set for her dollhouse she'll be getting, and a pink purse because she likes purses.

Turan-address booklet with a cute cartoon on the front. she'll love it.

Good. :D
Argentina was great. Wal-Mart was great. The bus-ride...ehm...not so much, but, WOO!
And it was nice coming home and seeing Anna Banana run up to us, purr and hug us. :)
Maybe on Monday I can go get my new glasses! YEEP!
And, I just need to gloat a little bit...
WE GOT KUNG FU PANDA!
BYE!

O, CHRISTMAS TREE, O CHRISTMAS TREE, HOW NAKED ARE YOUR BRANCHES!
5 murmurs the person responsible: ~*♥Verja♥*~ at, like, 3:14 PMI'm upset.
The tradition has flopped.
We always, ALWAYS, A-L-W-A-Y-S have the tree decorated and set up all in one day. This year, we were stopped.
We have no 2-20 Christmas-tree lights.
Nobody wanted to go out and buy some.
So we couldn't.
Now the tree sits in the living-room, clear of any decorations. Gone. No ornaments. No lights. No Santa boots under the tree.
Why?
I'm still wondering myself. I know I sound sort of crabby, but I hate breaking traditions! So sue me!
I don't care...
BAH HUMBUG!
But I have good news. Dad says we will continue work on the tree tomorrow...I'm just sad...I was so looking forward to laying under the tree, and looking up at all the pretty, shiny ornaments and lights.
Even when I'm an adult I'll still do that.
I guess I'm bummed...
I just can't wait for tomorrow! We will resume the fun!! WOO!
I'm going to decorate my bedroom. I will make little paper cones and decorate them to look like mini-trees.
I have named the geckos in the bathroom! HURRAH! With the help of Netsirk, they are now called Marina and Marlow.
WOO!
Also. Anyone who has a Santa hat, LISTEN UP!
I have created a tradition. I wear my Santa hat all December long. All day, every day. UNLESS WE GO PLACES.
Please join me. It's lots of fun!
:)
Now, I had best be going. Check this out:
www.frozenmomentsoflife.blogspot.com
bye bye!
It is time.
Black Friday was today. Sales. Sales everywhere. Gift wrap, gifts, stores were screaming my name. Thanksgiving was wonderful, but it is now time to prepare for Christmas.
I did some MAJOR shopping today. I bought little lady bug clips for McCel, a little pink purse for McCab, a black bangle bracelet for Lenma, a _____ for McCja, ______ for Mom, and a _____ for Verje. I have yet to buy Daddy something. But I know exactly what I'm gettin' him.
If anyone dares to enter my room tonight they will wish they were never born. NOBODY comes in my room anywhere near Christmas! Why? I'll tell you why.
Because I'm wrapping presents and I hate it when someone finds out what they are before Christmas, that's why!
I bought some pretty purple wrapping paper and silver wrapping paper to wrap my gifts. That way everyone knows they're from me.
I was browsing like crazy today. I had so much fun! I now know the true meaning of shop-til-you-drop, because I'm exhausted. But I will NOT rest until all of my presents are wrapped up and hidden away. Only then can I rest.
Verje is a snoop. Daddy would find out. In fact, I still have YET to buy him something. I know exactly where it is, though. And how much it is. And I shall buy it, because I know he'll love it.
I was about to spend the money I was given for today, all on me, to buy myself a pretty termo as soon as I bought everyone else stuff.
Then I realized that out of all times of the year, Christmas is the LEAST great a time to think of yourself.
So I bought everyone something. And, sure, I don't have the pretty termo I wanted. I'll survive. I've made a commitment. I will give more than I get this year. That's what Jesus intended.
I'm going to make everyone GIMP creations, too.
NO ONE COME IN MY ROOM.
STAY OUT.
I'm going to make a sign for my door.
I think I'm going to make some decorations for my room. Wouldn't that be neat? I know how to make paper snowflakes, and I have lots of nice candles, and a little fat snowman named Fred, and a bunch of ribbon. I shall.
Email me if you want to know what I got everyone. I feel a bit sad about Mom's gift, because..I don't feel it's all that special as the others are. But I know she'll love it. And maybe I'll find something at the last minute.
Now I'm off before Verje peeks in my room and sees the mess of tape, bows, ribbon and wrapping paper!
Bye!

How was everyone else's Thanksgiving?
I will get to the good part. We had fun. And food. We had:
-pecan pie
-apple pie
-pumpkin pie
-mashed potatoes
-cranberry sauce
-bread rolls
-turkey
-stuffing
-gravy
-green beans
-marshmallow banana pudding
Let me just say..It was delicious.
We all took pictures of everything, well, me and McCja did, I charged Chloe the entire night before because I knew I'd be taking lots of pictures, and McCja charged Nikki, her camera.
(Nikon).
I took plenty of pictures. Then I entertained 6 kids out in the pool. 6. But, I'm a natural entertainer because I am like my father, who is also an entertainer. We both like to talk, we're both crazy and funny and we like to be the center of attention. :D
I got a sunburn, and also, a pool sinker hoop tossed between my right eye and my nose. I can still feel where it hit. I'm just glad it didn't turn purple. I did what my father would have done. The little kid threw the hoop, so I made a big deal out of it, slunk over to the corner holding my nose as if I were in great pain. For the first 25 seconds, I was, but I just slunked over, and heard all this:
"Joel! That's enough!"
"Go inside!"
"BE CAREFUL!"
At that last one, I peeked out from behind my hand and looked at everyone as if I were about to cry.
"GOTCHA!" I screamed, and we played volleyball again. I made up two games on the spot, and they were really fun. Or so the kids thought.
1. Noodle wars.. Separate into teams and beat the tar out of the everyone with your eyes closed!
2. Snake. (It's great with lots and lots of people!) Everyone except ONE brave little soul is lined up with their eyes closed. All linked together, they have to chase the little brave one! Whoever touches 'it', gets to be alone and brave next.
It was fun! Then we all stood around on the patio as we dried off, and we sang Sound of Music songs. And Christmas songs.
We have to have that family back over, because they are a riot!
And then of course, I didn't get seconds because of course, 'it's not polite' mleh mleh, so as soon as everyone else left, I got the seconds I wanted. =)
I hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving!
So, I hope you had a great GLUTTON DAY!
SO, LATE:
HAPPY GLUTTON DAY!
:) Please let me know how YOURS went!

Thankful For A Day To Be Thankful For Things We Need To Be Thankful For
6 murmurs the person responsible: ~*♥Verja♥*~ at, like, 3:31 AMAlright.
We all know the stereotypical meaning of today. Long ago some old people shared loads of nummy food. But what is the real meaning?
To stuff our faces with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pecan and apple pie, green beans and pumpkin rolls.
Let's put aside all that. What things are you truly thankful for? Today is Thanksgiving. So give thanks!
I'm thankful for all this food that we're so blessed to have, when people on the other side of the world haven't seen a crumb for months.
I'm thankful for a nice house when people in Venezuela and other countries are living on the street.
I'm thankful for my family and my friends, who are always there when I need them.
I'm thankful for everything that God has so graciously given me.
What about you?
What are you thankful for?
meet the relatives: fancy speech, holidays, news, thanks, venezuela
Hello everybody!
I am bored today. And it's Friday! I don't know about you, but after Sunday, Friday is my favorite day. It means that there will be no school for 2 days. That is just wonderful! At least to kids, anyway...;)
I have had plenty to think about today. For one, THAT GIRL WHO CHANGES HER NAME SO MUCH, I think it's Skittles, now...Maybe...? She'll probably change it soon...So, don't count on it. Anyways, her birthday is tomorrow, and I have a present, which I shall create with GIMP, in mind, but the sad thing is, GIMP is on the older computer and that computer just shut off..So..I can't GIMP. But I have to so that I can make TGWCHNSM's present. (that girl who changes her name so much)...I only have until TOMORROW!! I have to! I have to make it!! NOW NOW NOW!
Alas, all my friends are not online. I think they left as soon as my computer shut off, meaning I couldn't communicate with them, thus, as soon as I, their entertainment, left, they got bored and left. I love ya, friends! :D
I am writing a mystery novel. Nothing scary, don't worry. The problem is..I don't know what to do for a mystery! I have started it..and..* crickets * ALRIGHT-ALRIGHT I KNOW! I procrastinate!! I haven't sat down and thought very much. I'm more of a 'make-it-up-as-you-go' sort of author. And another thing, I write and write and then I can never finish the book...Or I get bored halfway through and KAPUT. I forget entirely about it. For example...I have about 5 stories in my email drafts and another 12 in Microsoft Office Word. And they have been there since...* crickets *...About 5 months now. Maybe? I don't know. Just a guesstimate.
So, please leave me a comment with an idea on a NOT-FREAKY mystery. And it has to be made up by you, and I want it to be creative. And different. Not typical. Where is Jerry Bruckheimer when you need him?
I drew an interesting picture today. I put my art supplies given to me by about 40 churches, (THANK YOU!! :D) to good use and drew a charcoal picture of a little girl on a swing in a little place by a creek. Personally, I think I could have done better, but...I don't have a charcoal eraser, and thus, I will leave it as is. The little girl is cute! With pigtails. And there is a little stool under the swing. And in the creek behind her, are cat-tails and fish...I want to go there...To that peaceful place. And I don't believe in looking at it, staring and concentrating on it because, um. THAT WON'T TAKE ME THERE! I have a vivid imagination, but I refuse to use it for that...
I have a dilemma. I want to draw something to match my room. I want my own artwork on the wall. Since I can't use my paint-by-numbers, I want to draw or paint my own piece. (My paint-by-numbers' paint dried up...BOTH KITS! * sobs in despair *) Any ideas?? My room is colorful. Themed INDIA, because I've always admired how India is so colorful! I want to go there...: ) Anyways, here are the colors, if, in any way this helps you to think of something: turquoise, pink, yellow, green, orange, and stripes in all those colors along with blue butterflies. I have thought of drawing the Taj Mahal,( Not sure HOW you spell that!) because I have always thought that that building is COOL-LOOKIN'!
I have named my camera Chloe. Thank you very very very much, Skittles! I love that name! And it fits my camera perfectly. Because she has a little beaded dog and a little trinket made by my dear, dear friend BosSha hanging from the hook. Chloe...I love it! : )
I have a few more lessons in math and then I'll be DONE. For about a week, I'll get some freedom, and then I will start the next book...Oh, the joy.
Turkey Day is coming up! TURKEY DAY! The day where everyone gathers round, is thankful, and stuffs their faces with mashed potatoes, gravy, pies and all that other wooooonderful food...:)
We are having the H family over. They have 8 kids. Yes, 8. But they are such a wonderful family! They gave me books!! : ) Wonderful, glorious books. I've read them already. I can't wait until they get here. Their family is so fun! : ) I plan to sing Sound of Music songs with them, because they all harmonize and know the songs by heart. I LOVE that movie! Julie Andrews has the voice of an angel.
To celebrate any holiday that has a hat involved, (except for Halloween or any other bad holiday), ugh..x|) I wear the hat through the week of the holiday. Since I don't go to public school * shudders at the thought *, I have fun and wear funky hats on holidays. This week, I shall wear a black top-hat that I found in the toy-box. That is as close as I can get to a Pilgrim's hat. AROUND CHRISTMAS, I will wear my Santa hat that Skittles gave me. : )
I have been thinking. What comes to mind when you think toiletries? PRONOUNCE IT.
Toi-let-trees.
I think of a group of trees with toilets growing on them. What do YOU think of?
Any other funny mental pictures of strange words? How about...Napkin. Doesn't that seem like a better name for a toddler-size sleeping bag? "Mommy...Did you pack my napkin?"
Isn't that CUTE!? I like that much better than something that we wipe our messy mouths with. What can you think of that people say often and don't realize what they sound like? Please leave it in your comment. I like to laugh. :)
I think I've kept you long enough. I'm off to go and write a chapter in the story blog. BLUEY, SKITTLES AND NETSIRK HAVEN'T BEEN WRITING IN IT!!! I, Verja, shall take upon myself the perilous danger of writing in a story blog that is hungry from not having been written in for months and months.
* places sword on both shoulders *
Bye bye! :D

Okay. The boxes are like rats. There are always more. No matter how great you feel after you've unpacked everything, and everything looks good, and everything is clean and nice and cozy, you remember you have a WHOLE CLOSET full of boxes that are just waiting to be unpacked! MORE!
I got the news today. I had all my room done (or so I thought), and Dad comes in with a gigantinormous box of stuff I don't even remember having!
It's like Christmas! So much, in fact, that I found my Santa hat that Kopatopie gave me at Christmas, and I wore it all day.
I don't know why, but I've always wanted a Santa hat to wear all Christmas day long! Thank you for making my wish come true, Kopatopie! =)
And I found my awesome pink, fluffy slippers! With the weather, I have been needing warmth for my footsies!
Here are some of the things that I have found, and am overjoyed because I found them:
-My Real Art! Paint Set. It's a paint-by-number kit that recreates beautiful, famous paintings! I get to paint the Mona Lisa! And van Gogh's flower picture! And it's just really really cool!
-My Holly-Heart books. The best books! I ♥ them!!
-My Babysitters Survival Guidebook
-My Nature Journal book
-My notebooks and pads!! I'm an avid writer, and I like to always have something that I can write on.
-My PURPLE bedsheets! The beige in the pictures clash, but this purple is SUPER pretty, and they are like a SILK material! Now I can make my bed where you pull the sheet out under the pillows and stuffed animals like I think every bed should be done! And it won't look--um--special?
-My jewelry chest! My gorgeous wood one! With the pretty little doors and glass carving! And I already set to work and all my jewelry is in it, all nice and organized!
-My Devotional Notebook where I put the date and it has a place for prayer requests and favorite verse notes and I just love it. And, it really has helped me. And, I was a dumb blonde (xD) and packed it on the container cause it looks like a BOOK that I read once and never want to read again. But, I packed it away. And then I missed it. =(
-My iPod. My pretty pink one. It's a shuffle, and it's so cute! Her name is Pinkie. Yeah, I know. I'm really creative...But, hey, it's pink!! Pink=Pinkie!
-My iDog! She is so pretty, and she plays pretty little light patterns on her head when I play the songs. My favorite is when she plays Irish Hymns. I love that CD!
-Notes and cards. I keep all of them. I shouldn't, but I do. I'm an emotional pack-rat.
-Stationary!!! I can write pretty letters...When I need to...But, it looks nice on my desk. =)
And now, I have to get back to my work...And, I know that I'll have more tomorrow! BYE!
And, please pray for me...I have more to pack!! I hope I can handle it...
AND! AND AND!
Pray for these things too:
1. That we can get a baby dwarf turtle.
2. That I can get a pretty beanbag chair soon!
3. That I can pay a LITTLE more attention in my school...I'm just so excited that stuff is here!!
Well, I have been getting comments from Jackie and from her whenever she talks to me to post something new, so. Josh is here, and we are having so much fun with him. Today Jewel has a volleyball practice, and tonight we have a baseball game to attend. Josh is coming too. The Tiburones de La Guaira. We are going to have fun. I also have 2 Cardenales hats, that I can lend out. One is pink and is autographed, and another is just like a Safari hat with the team-logo on it. We had alot of fun this Christmas. Especially since Josh was here. He added to the happiness alot. Well, here is our Christmas: We got up and opened presents around 5, and then Jewel, Josh, and Mom went back to bed and went back to sleep, but me and Dad stayed up, and I had fun with my new presents. Later, Jackie got online, and said she would put the webcam on so that we could watch Elena open her presents. She loved a toy cellphone that she got. Then, later, around lunchtime, Jeanah, Janelle, Jason, Johnny, Uncle Ed, Aunt Debbie, and some Brazilian missionaries came over to have Christmas Dinner. I gave their older daughter some earrings that I had gotten in my stocking, because they didn't get very much, so I wanted to give them something. Then, we gave Jeanah and Janelle some Barbies, and Johnny got a Pirates of the Carribean sword set. We had a gift exchange. Me and Jewel got great witnessing bracelets, that tell the story of Jesus, and how he died, and the whole story. There are beads for every part. Aunt Debbie gave them to us. Then, me and Jeanah and Janelle and the little girl I gave the earrings to, named Joyce, went outside and played in the park and we did contests and stuff. I also found a rudolph nose! It was in our yard, and someone must have dropped it or something. Here is a picture of me wearing it : )
We had a GREAT Chrsitmas!

Twas the month before Christmas,
And all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying,
Nor taking a stand.
See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas-no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt peoples' feelings, the teachers would say.
December 25th is just a "Holiday".
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks, and credit.
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it.
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an iPod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken and Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas was no where to be found.
At K-mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You wont hear the word Christmas, it wont touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, di-ver-si-ty are words that were used to intimidate you and me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Kennedy, Wolf Blitzer
On Boxer,On Rather, On Kerry, On Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of Salvation and Grace.
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded.
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate
"Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully,
choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday!

Christmas: Celebrate it the RIGHT way!
4 murmurs the person responsible: ~*♥Verja♥*~ at, like, 1:56 PMWell, it's another day,one step closer to Jesus' birthday. There's actually a song I am going to sing for Christmas, and it's called, "Christmas Without Jesus" Now, doesnt that sound sad? Christmas without Jesus! I wouldnt love Christmas as much. And it WOULD NOT be Christmas, without Christ! I was just thinking how sad it would be, if we didnt celebrate Jesus' birthday. We would just sing Silent Night not even knowing the wonderful meaning of that song. We would sing Away In A Manger, only knowing that we were singing about 'how Christmas started'. I am glad that we all know the real meaning of Christmas. Because, that just makes it even more worth waiting a whole year for. I love opening presents, but I dont just think, 'oh I love Christmas! It's the best day of the year! I get to open presents! Yipee!' I think, ' Oh, I love Christmas! It's the day Jesus, our Savior was born! I'm glad I know the true meaning of these gifts. Thank you Lord. For being born!Oh, and Happy Birthday!' I am glad that I love Jesus. He is greater than the great! Everyone should have as much joy as we all do on Christmas. So, I am going to tell everyone how happy I am on Christmas, and not for the presents. For Jesus' Birthday. I want them to feel how joyful we all are every Christmas, and for the same reasn as all of us! How about you?
He is born in Bethlehem!
Jesus Christ is Born!

"I Like Smoked Worms" By Jayde Vernoy
I like smoked worms,
I think they are delicious,
I once met a girl,
who said worms would make her nocious.
I said "You're crazy!"
She told me "You're wierd!"
We looked at each other,
long enough to grow a beard.
Then she asked me this question,
"Have you ever been speared?"
I told her no,her face lost it's worry,
I smiled at her, glad we had lost each other's furry.
THE END.
"Under my thatch roof" By Jayde Vernoy
I lay in silence,
Unable to sleep,
We'd move to the city,
so soon each day I'd weep.
President Chavez had said,
Right on tv,
That he didnt want to see in the jungle,
One missionary.
I felt like crying,
when he said those words.
I felt like I was being stabbed,
by a thousand swords.
I loved our home,
I loved it there,
how could Chavez say that?
It just wasnt fair.
So we packed a bunch of things,
some were old,some were new,
but when we boxed it all up,
we could only take a few.
"Plane Day" came,
and we all climbed inside the plane.
I did not like it.
I thought it was insane.
One last look,
At the Indian's lined up,to say goodbye,
It hurt me so much,
I thought I would die.
But here I am now,
One year later,
getting used to a new life
And no longer eating gator.
